Panthers closing in on trades

According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Panthers GM Randy Sexton admits he's inching closer to completing a number of trades.

The Panthers have been actively shopping a number of their players, including the likes of Rostislav Olesz, Dennis Seidenberg and Cory Stillman, but Sexton pointed out he's not looking to give his players away.

"Make no mistake – there will be no fire sale," Sexton told the Sun-Sentinel.

"We're discussing a whole host of deals – some of which include draft picks, some of which include NHL players, some of which include some combination."

In a letter to fans prior to the Olympic break, majority co-owners Stu Siegel and Cliff Viner told fans the team requires "reshaping" and "significant change."

Having already completed one move, which saw center Dominic Moore head to Montreal for a 2011 second-round draft pick, the team is expected to pull the trigger on several other deals.

As of Friday afternoon, the team had not yet spoken to veteran goalie Tomas Vokoun about waiving his no-trade clause, despite interest coming from the Chicago Blackhawks and Washington Capitals.
