Horton, Olesz on the trade block

With the Panthers already trying to move center Nathan Horton, the Ottawa Sun reports Florida wouldn't mind trading Rostislav Olesz, either.

Horton, who has apparently caught the interest of the Toronto Maple Leafs, has picked up his game of late, picking up nine points in his last seven games.

If the Leafs want Horton, though, the Sun reports the Panthers would have to take Jason Blake and his $4 million cap hit back as part of a deal.

The Anaheim Ducks, Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators are also rumored to be interested in Horton.

Olesz, meanwhile, is also believed to be on the block. The paper claims the Panthers want to move him to get a big center in return.

I don't expect a trade involving Horton or Olesz to be imminent. But, if the Panthers can't get their acts together and push their way into playoff contention by January, expect trade talks to pick up. -- David Pagnotta
