Panthers looking at Savard as next coach?

TheFourthPeriod.com

The Florida Panthers continue their search for a new head coach, but they aren't likely to name one until the end of the playoffs.

According to Ottawa Sun columnist Bruce Garrioch, the Panthers are interested in Pittsburgh Penguins assistant coach Andre Savard.

Garrioch wrote in his blog that the Savard has "emerged as one of the top candidates."

Savard and Panthers GM Jacques Martin worked together with the Ottawa Senators and Quebec Nordiques.

If the Panthers are interested in Savard's services, they'll have to wait until the Penguins are out of the playoffs to seek permission to speak with him.
