Martin to meet with ownership TheFourthPeriod.com
With the season now behind him, Panthers coach and GM Jacques Martin is expected to talk about his future with team owner Alan Cohen, reports the Miami Herald.
It has been widely speculated that Martin might not return in one of his two positions next season.
"It's something I'll definitely discuss with Alan," Martin told the paper. "It's something we have to address. I think moving forward, it's part of the evaluation process. It's something I have to address with the ownership, get some answers. We need to take some time and reflect and analyze the team."
Meanwhile, a lot of questions now surround Panthers captain Olli Jokinen, who has butt heads with Martin throughout the season.
Martin told the Herald, "I don't think there's a rift," between him and his captain, although Jokinen "had a real opportunity to get this team into the playoffs."
The Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames were among the teams interested in acquiring Jokinen at the trade deadline.
