The Florida Panthers have claimed forward Garth Murray off re-entry waivers from the Montreal Canadiens.
Murray, 25, appeared in one game with the Habs this season before being put on waivers and sent down to Hamilton of the AHL.
The native of Regina, Sask., was originally drafted by the New York Rangers in 2001 and later traded to the Canadiens in 2005 for winger Marcel Hossa.
In 100 career NHL games with Montreal, Murray has accumulated eight goals, two assists and 100 penalty minutes.
