The Edmonton Oilers are looking to add a bottom-six forward by the March 1 trade deadline and GM Peter Chiarelli could be eyeing one particular player.
Chiarelli took in Friday's Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1 shootout loss in Minnesota to the Wild, adding fuel to the fire that he may be looking at Bolts forward Brian Boyle.
During Saturday night's "Headlines" segment on Hockey Night in Canada, Nick Kypreos reported that the Oilers were among the teams interested in Boyle, who is in the final year of his contract.
Boyle, 32, is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent July 1 and is expected to be dealt by the March 1 trade deadline.
The Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Chicago Blackhawks and Columbus Blue Jackets are also believed to have interest in Boyle.
