Oilers sign Lucic to 7-year contract

The Edmonton Oilers have signed unrestricted free agent left wing Milan Lucic to a seven-year, $42 million contract.

Lucic, 27, registered 20 goals and 35 assists for 55 points and 79 penalty minutes in 81 games with the Los Angeles Kings last season.

Lucic has played in 647 career NHL regular-season games with the Boston Bruins and Kings and has accumulated 159 goals and 238 assists for 397 points and 851 penalty minutes.

The Vancouver native was originally drafted by the Bruins in the second round, 50th overall, of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
