Oilers, Flyers continuing talks

The Edmonton Oilers and Philadelphia Flyers were involved in significant trade talks during the NHL Draft, and those conversations have carried out into the week.

It's believed Flyers defenseman Braydon Coburn was one of the main pieces being discussed, but a source close to the situation told TFP it was a "much bigger deal."

The two sides had been going back-and-forth from their tables on the Draft floor for a significant period of time, but a deal was never consummated.

According to a source, with knowledge of the discussions, the Oilers became upset with the Flyers after they felt a deal had been ironed out, only to find that the Flyers changed parameters of the offer.

The Oilers have been shopping the likes of center Shawn Horcoff and right wing Ales Hemsky, though it's unknown if either of those players were involved in trade talks with Philadelphia.

Oilers GM Craig MacTavish and Flyers GM Paul Holmgren are still talking, and a deal could be finalized this week.
