Oilers acquire Fistric from Stars

The Edmonton Oilers have acquired defenseman Mark Fistric from the Dallas Stars in exchange for a 2013 third-round draft pick.

Oilers GM Steve Tambellini has been trying to add to his blueline since the NHL Draft in June.

Fistric, an Edmonton native, registered two assists and 41 penalty minutes in 60 games with the Stars last season.

In 257 career NHL regular-season games, all with the Stars, Fistric has accumulated three goals and 20 assists for 23 points. He's also tallied a plus-16 rating and 220 penalty minutes.

Fistric was originally drafted 28th overall by the Stars in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
