Oilers working on major trade?

Various reports out of Edmonton suggest the Oilers could complete a major roster move once a new CBA is agreed upon and the regular-season resumes.

According to Oilers radio analyst Bob Stauffer, host of Oilers Now on 630 CHED, "there will be a wow factor move coming," he announced yesterday on the radio.

Teams are not supposed to be discussing trades with other clubs during the NHL lockout, but it's believed several teams have had such talks.

If the season gets underway, teams will have roughly 7-10 days of camp to prepare for the start of the 2012-13 campaign.

The Oilers have shown an interest in Vancouver Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo, though it's unclear what else they could have been working on.

Oilers right wing Ales Hemsky has been dangled as trade bait for parts of the last two seasons and could be used to bring Edmonton some much needed defensive help.
