Oilers deal Gilbert to Wild for Schultz
TheFourthPeriod.com

The Edmonton Oilers have traded defenseman Tom Gilbert to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for defenseman Nick Schultz.

Schultz has posted one goal and two assists in 62 games for the Wild this season.

He has two years remaining on the six-year deal he signed with the Wild in 2008 at an average annual value of $3.5 million.

Gilbert, who missed more than a month with an ankle injury before returning on Feb. 6, has also two years left on the six-year contract he signed with the Oilers in 2008 with a $4 million annual cap hit.

In 47 games with the Oilers this season, Gilbert has collected three goals and 14 assists for 17 points.
