"We talked," Hemsky told the Sun. "And I'm open to whatever happens (staying or going). I'll see what kind of offers they will give me and we will take it from there."
With just a short list of definite sellers at the deadline, Hemsky is expected to be one of the hottest commodities up front and has been linked to several clubs that seek an offensive boost for a run at the Stanley Cup.
Hemsky, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, believes he is finally back to form after back-to-back shoulder surgeries.
"I'm feeling great now," he added. "It's been a struggle for a little while but I'm feeling way better, I feel like everything is behind me. It's been good. I can't complain about my health."
In 42 games with the Oilers this season, Hemsky has collected four goals and 20 assists for 24 points.
