Oilers' Eberle out 2-3 weeks

Oilers forward Jordan Eberle will miss 2-3 weeks of action with a right knee injury, the club announced on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old suffered the injury during Saturday's 4-1 to the Stars in Dallas. The results from an MRI informed the team's decision about the amount of time he will miss.

"It's never a good time for an injury," he told the Oilers website. "But I'm going to focus on getting healthy and getting back to the lineup as soon as I can."

In 41 games this season, Eberle has 17 goals and 26 assists for 43 points.

In other news, defenseman Tom Gilbert is expected to be out until February due to a lower-body injury. The loss of Gilbert is significant as he leads the Oilers in ice time by approximately four minutes per game and has recorded three goals and 12 assists for 15 points in 38 games.
