Pisani unhappy with lack of ice time

Oilers forward Fernando Pisani was quietly hoping for a trade this week, as his playing time with the team has diminished of late, reports the Edmonton Journal.

Pisani was the subject of a variety of trade rumors circulating around the NHL earlier this week, prior to the trade deadline.

The 33-year-old was a healthy scratch on Friday, and he wasn't happy about it.

"I'm not playing tonight ... I'm not happy," he told the Journal. "I don't think you're supposed to be."

The Phoenix Coyotes were believed to be interested in Pisani, who was checking in his with agent on deadline day to see if a trade was coming.

Pisani is in the final year of his contract and can become an unrestricted free agent July 1.
