Oilers aren't throwing in towel
TheFourthPeriod.com

With injuries mounting and a playoff spot looking like a near-impossible climb, the Oilers aren't about to give up on the season, reports the Edmonton Sun.

"It's November, we have a very long way to go here," Oilers GM Steve Tambellini told the Sun yesterday. "We'll never give up on the group."

Even though Ales Hemsky will miss the rest of the season with an injury, and starting goalie Nikolai Khabibulin is out of action with another injury, the Oilers believe they have what it takes to jump back into playoff contention.

However, the Sun suggests that if the team can't pile up some victories, the Oilers may look to sell some players later in the season.

I certainly can't see Edmonton jumping ship this early in the season. No team would. But if the Oilers can't get out of this big hole by February, they'll have little choice but to entertain the possibility of selling some of its players. -- David Pagnotta
