Tatar signs new 3-year contract

The Detroit Red Wings have announced that they have re-signed restricted free agent left wing Tomas Tatar to a three-year contract.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Tatar, 23, completed his first full NHL season in 2013-14, ranking sixth on the team with 39 points (19 goals, 20 assists) in 73 games.

He ranked second on the team in goals (19), third in plus-minus (+12), first in shots (158) and first with three shootout goals.

Originally drafted by Detroit in the second round (60th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Tatar has skated in 100 career games with the Red Wings since 2010-11, tallying 24 goals and 23 assists for 47 points, and 34 penalty minutes.
