Red Wings waiting on Alfredsson

The Red Wings are waiting to hear whether or not veteran right wing Daniel Alfredsson plans on playing another season.

Alfredsson, 41, is contemplating playing another season and if he returns to the NHL next year, it'll be with the Wings.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the Wings are interested in working out a new contract with Alfredsson, if he wants to return.

In 68 games with the Red Wings this season, Alfredsson registered 18 goals and 31 assists for 49 points.

The Free Press also reports the Wings are interested in re-signing goaltender Jonas Gustavsson and veteran forward Dan Cleary.
