Red Wings re-sign Andersson
TheFourthPeriod.com

The Detroit Red Wings have re-signed restricted free agent forward Joakim Andersson to a two-year contract.

In accordance with team policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Andersson, 24, registered three goals, five assists and eight penalty minutes in 38 games with the Red Wings this past season.

He recorded his first career NHL goal and assist in the same game, a 5-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Feb. 15 at Joe Louis Arena.

Andersson was originally selected by Detroit in the third round (88th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
