Red Wings, Huskins agree to terms

The Detroit Red Wings have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with unrestricted free agent defenseman Kent Huskins.

The deal was signed earlier this morning.

Huskins, 33, spent last season with the St. Louis Blues, registering two goals and five assists for seven points, a plus-9 rating and 10 penalty minutes, while earning $1 million.

In 299 career NHL regular-season games with the Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks and Blues, Huskins has accumulated 13 goals and 54 assists for 67 points, and 169 penalty minutes.

He was originally drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the sixth-round, 156th overall, of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.

Huskins won the Stanley Cup with the Anaheim Ducks in 2006-07.
