Zetterberg signs in Switzerland

Detroit Red Wings star forward Henrik Zetterberg will be playing in Switzerland's National A League during the NHL lockout.

Zetterberg, 32, signed with EV Zug of the Swiss League, joining Montreal Canadiens defenseman Raphael Diaz.

The native of Njurunda, Sweden, registered 22 goals and 47 assists for 69 points in 82 games with Detroit last season.

Zetterberg is the seventh member of the Red Wings to sign overseas during the lockout, joining Pavel Datysuk, Valtteri Vilppula, Jakub Kindl, Tomas Tatar, Jonathan Ericsson and Drew Miller.

Tatar, however, will be returning to Grand Rapids of the AHL for the start of their regular-season.
