Pavel Datsyuk is among the players making alternative plans to play hockey in the wake of the current NHL lockout, that was announced just past midnight this morning.
Sport-Express newspaper first reported that the Detroit Red Wings star has reached an agreement with two-time KHL champions Ak Bars Kazan.
Datsyuk, 34, collected 19 goals and 48 assists for 67 the points in 70 games with the Red Wings last season.
KHL teams are allowed to sign a maximum of three NHL players during the NHL's lockout, while a max salary has been imposed of 65 per cent of what they earn under their NHL contracts.
