Lidstrom out vs. Blue Jackets

The Detroit Red Wings defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom missed Tuesday's 5-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets due to a lower-body injury, the Detroit News reports.

The 41-year-old has been listed as day-to-day after injuring one of his ankles during Saturday night's contest against the Colorado Avalanche.

"The puck kind of skipped and it hit me right in the ankle," Lidstrom told the News.

The Wings recalled blueliner Doug Janik from the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins before Tuesday night's game in Columbus.

In 62 games this season, Lidstrom has tallied 10 goals and 21 assists for 31 points and a plus-25 rating.
