Stuart's last season in Detroit?

This season could be defenseman Brad Stuart's last as a member of the Detroit Red Wings, according to a report in the Edmonton Journal.

Stuart, 32, is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in July and could look to sign with a team in California this summer.

The Alberta native started his career in San Jose and spent part of the 2007-08 campaign in Los Angeles.

The Journal claims Stuart's family has been living in California while he's been playing for the Red Wings, and suggests he'd welcome a return to the west coast.

In 44 games with the Wings this season, Stuart has picked up four goals and five assists for nine points, and has posted a plus-10 rating.

Stuart is in the final season of a four-year, $15 million contract.
