Datsyuk out with injury
TheFourthPeriod.com

Red Wings forward Pavel Datsyuk missed Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the New York Islanders due to a lower-body injury.

According to the Detroit News, the 33-year-old is considered day-to-day, but feels confident he could return to the lineup on Thursday when the Wings host the Phoenix Coyotes.

"I felt it (Monday) a little bit and hoped it would be better," Datsyuk told the News before Tuesday’s contest. "But it's not better."

Datsyuk possibly suffered the lower-body injury during Sunday's 3-2 overtime win over the Blackhawks in Chicago.

Although it is not considered to be serious, the Wings' leading scorer was held out of Tuesday's contest as a precaution.

In 41 games with the Red Wings this season, Datsyuk has recorded 13 goals and 30 assists for 43 points.
