The Red Wings are in the market for a veteran defenseman to add to their roster and appear to have set their sights on two candidates.
According to the Detroit Booth News, the Wings have inquired about unrestricted free agent defensemen Lukas Krajicek and Willie Mitchell.
Krajicek, 27, split last season between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Philadelphia Flyers, while Mitchell spent the 2009-10 campaign with the Vancouver Canucks.
The Booth News suggests Krajicek might be a better fit than Mitchell, primarily because his salary would be presumably less.
It's believed the Red Wings have roughly $1 million to spend on another rearguard.
