Lindy Ruff will not be returning as head coach of the Dallas Stars.
Ruff, whose contract expires at the end of June, will not be offered an extension, the Stars announced on Sunday.
Ruff, 57, earned a record of 34-37-11 for 79 points as head coach with Dallas this season.
"I want to personally thank Lindy for his commitment and professionalism over the four years that he served as our head coach in Dallas," said Stars GM Jim Nill. "Lindy is not only a highly respected coach, he more importantly is a great person and an outstanding family man whom I have the utmost respect for on and off the ice."
In four seasons behind the Stars bench, Ruff picked up a 165-122-41 record.
