Stars, Fiddler agree to 2-year deal
TheFourthPeriod.com

The Dallas Stars have agreed to terms on a two-year, $2.5 million contract with unrestricted free agent center Vernon Fiddler.

Fiddler, 34, registered six goals and 17 assists for 23 points, and 37 penalty minutes, in 76 games with the Stars last season.

The Edmonton native was the subject of various trade rumors after he requested to be moved mid-season, but quickly changed his mind and decided against a move.

In 656 career NHL regular-season games with the Nashville Predators, Phoenix Coyotes and Stars, Fiddler has accumulated 77 goals and 129 assists for 206 points, and 427 penalty minutes.

Fiddler entered the NHL after signing a contract as a free agent with the Predators on May 6, 2002.
