Stars could be quiet come deadline
The Stars might not be overly actively between now and the trade deadline, as GM Jim Nill wouldn't commit, one way or another, to being a buyer or a seller.
In an interview with the Dallas Morning News, Nill indicated that he didn't think he would make a move to acquire an offensive forward.
"I'm not sitting here saying I need to add a scorer," he told the paper. "I like our mix, I like our growth. You've got to be careful with additions, with the chemistry of the team and the growth of the team."
The Stars have been contemplating trading veterans Ray Whitney and Vernon Fiddler, and while that could still happen before the March 5 trade deadline, Nill isn't tipping hit hat.
"Right now, our goal is to get into the playoffs," he said. "Would you make trades? Everybody is available in this league, but it has to be a good trade. I'm happy with where we are. If there's something there that makes us better, we'll do it... if it makes sense."
