Stars continue to scout the East
TheFourthPeriod.com

After the Dallas Stars acquired left wing Erik Cole from the Montreal Canadiens last month, GM Joe Nieuwendyk admitted that he was still open to making more deals.

The Stars have been actively scouting the NHL, specifically the Eastern Conference, as another move is expected to be made before the April 3 trade deadline.

Tonight, the Stars have scouts in both Boston and Toronto, for the Bruins' game against the Florida Panthers, and the Maple Leafs' game versus the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Stars are actively shopping captain Brenden Morrow, who is expected to be dealt by the deadline, while center Derek Roy could also be moved.

Both Morrow and Roy are set to become unrestricted free agents this July.

It's unclear what Nieuwendyk is looking for in return for Morrow or Roy, but a young top prospect and high draft pick is expected to be the going rate for a player of their calibers.
