Benn comes home for holidays

The Hamburg Freezers have released on their website on Wednesday that Dallas Stars forward Jamie Benn is leaving the team.

Benn, 23, has reportedly asked for a personal break but it is not likely to be caused by an injury. The young forward would simply like to be home for Christmas.

Benn, who posted seven goals and 13 assists for 20 points in 19 games with Hamburg, could return to the Freezers if the lockout drags on much longer or the entire season is cancelled.

Teammate Stephane Robidas, who was playing for HIFK Helsinki, is also returning from Europe.

In 71 games with the Stars last season, Benn tallied 26 goals and 37 assists for 63 points.
