Jagr injured in Czech league

Veteran superstar forward Jaromir Jagr injured himself earlier this week while playing for Kladno of the Czech Extraliga and missed Sunday's game against Liberec.

Jagr, 40, signed a one-year, $4.55 million contract with the Dallas Stars in July after spending last season with the Philadelphia Flyers.

Jagr's injury is unconfirmed and it's not yet certain if he will play in Kladno's next match on Tuesday.

Several NHLers have joined Jagr in Kladno, including center Tomas Plekanec and defenseman Tomas Kaberle of the Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey Devils defenseman Marek Zidlicky and Carolina Hurricanes forward Jiri Tlusty.

Meanwhile, the NHL and the NHLPA remained in constant communication over the weekend, in an attempt to come to terms on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The NHL made a new proposal last Tuesday, which was countered by three proposals on Thursday, all of which were rejected in less than 15 minutes.

The NHL has imposed a deadline of Oct. 25 to get a new CBA done in order to preserve a full 82-game regular-season.
