Benn continues to negotiate new deal TheFourthPeriod.com
The Dallas Stars remain in constant communication with forward Jamie Benn's camp, as the club hopes to lock up the restricted free agent to a long-term contract.
Benn, 23, wrapped up his three-year, entry-level contract and is searching for a new long-term deal with the Stars.
Recently, the Carolina Hurricanes signs Jeff Skinner to a six-year, $34.35 million extension, while the Montreal Canadiens inked Max Pacioretty to a six-year, $27 million deal.
Benn is looking for a contract closer to the one Skinner signed, as his overall offensive production has been closer to that of Skinner's than Pacioretty's, though Pacioretty registered more seven more goals and two more points than Benn this past season.
Negotiations between Stars GM Joe Nieuwendyk and Benn's agent Rich Evans have been fluid, though a deal is not believed to be imminent.
