Stars leading scorer Jamie Benn left during the second period of Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Calgary Flames, when he was cut on his leg by the skate blade of defenseman Mark Giordano.
The 22-year-old headed straight to the locker room and did not return to the contest. According to the Dallas Morning News, he is listed as day-to-day after receiving stitches on the lacerated leg.
Stars coach Glen Gulutzan does not expect that Benn will join his teammates for a road game against the Coyotes in Phoenix on Saturday, but that he might be able to return to the lineup in time for Sunday's home game against the Nashville Predators.
In 52 games with the Stars this season, Benn has collected 17 goals and 32 assists for 49 points.
