Stars downplay interest in Richards TheFourthPeriod.com
The Stars may be one of the teams interested in Richards, however, co-GM Les Jackson denied that an offer has been made, the Fort-Worth Star-Telegram reports.
"We've talked, for sure," Jackson told the paper. "We like the player, but we haven't done anything."
Dallas, Columbus, Vancouver, Chicago and Edmonton are among the teams interested in Richards, who gave the Lightning a list of eight teams he'd accept a trade to.
Richards has a no-movement clause and would have to approve any deal Tampa Bay agrees upon.
The Stars are also pursuing other players, including the likes of Toronto's Jason Blake, the New York Islanders' Miroslav Satan and Florida's Olli Jokinen.
"If the right thing comes up, we'll see," Jackson said. "Our team is doing good, and I think we have to respect what we have."
