Stars sign Ribeiro to five-year deal TheFourthPeriod.com
The Dallas Stars have signed center Mike Ribeiro to a five-year, $25 million contract extension.
"Mike has made a big impact on our hockey club the past two seasons and we are very happy to have him under contract," said Stars Co-GM Brett Hull. "He makes things happen on the ice and will only continue to grow as a player.
"We saw the money that was thrown around this past summer, and to get a player of his caliber under contract for the next five years bodes well for our team. This guy is skilled and has increased his conditioning season by season. I truly believe he has only scratched the surface in his potential and we're still going to see a lot from both him and Brenden."
Ribeiro, 27, has appeared in 40 games with the Stars this season, notching 21 goals and 23 assists for 44 points.
The 6-0, 175-pound forward has appeared in 397 career NHL games and collected 89 goals and 167 assists for 256 points and 126 penalty minutes.
