Halpern on Stars' wish list

Upon signing winger Matthew Barnaby late Tuesday, the Stars hope to ink center Jeff Halpern to a contract, as well.
According to the Dallas Morning News, the Stars have offered Halpern a four-year contract worth $2 million per season.
Stars GM Doug Armstrong confirmed that he was in discussions with Halpern and said talks are "well down the road."
Halpern, 33, had 11 goals and 33 assists in 70 games with the Washington Capitals last season.

Meanwhile, the Morning News suggests the Stars might also have interest in Anson Carter, Sergei Samsonov and Brendan Shanahan.
