TheFourthPeriod.com

Colorado Avalanche GM Joe Sakic is extremely busy discussing multiple trade scenarios with multiple teams as the trade deadline fast approaches today at 3pm ET.

Trade talks surrounding center Matt Duchene and Avs captain Gabriel Landeskog are ongoing, but Sakic has not backed down from his asking price for either player.

The Montreal Canadiens and New York Islanders are among the teams still engaged in discussions, while the Philadelphia Flyers and Carolina Hurricanes have also been in the mix.

Avs defenseman Fedor Tyutin is expected to be traded and a deal was supposedly on the table Tuesday night with an Eastern Conference team.

Veteran star right wing Jarome Iginla is also being discussed with roughly three teams and he hopes to move to a Stanley Cup contender today.

Forwards John Mitchell and Rene Bourque and defenseman Cody Goloubef are also on the block.
