Iginla signs 3-year deal with Avs
The Colorado Avalanche has signed unrestricted free agent right wing Jarome Iginla to a three-year, $16 million contract.
Iginla, who turned 37 today, registered 30 goals and 31 assists for 61 points in 78 games with the Boston Bruins last season.
"We are excited about Jarome Iginla becoming a member of the Avalanche," said Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations Joe Sakic. "Jarome’s track record speaks for itself. He is one of the top goal scorers of all time, as well as a great leader. His addition will bolster our offense."
Drafted 11th overall by the Dallas Stars in 1995, Iginla has played in 1,310 career NHL regular-season games with the Calgary Flames, Pittsburgh Penguins and Bruins, and has accumulated 560 goals and 607 assists for 1,167 points, as well as 887 penalty minutes.
