O'Reilly: talks ongoing, but no results TheFourthPeriod.com
Although the stalemate remains between restricted free agent Ryan O'Reilly and the Colorado Avalanche, the Denver Post has reported that both sides have held talks on Tuesday.
Sources reported last week that the Avs had offered the 21-year-old forward a five-year, $17 million contract, but O'Reilly is believed to be seeking a longer deal.
The Avalanche's management remains adamant that they should not put up any more than they did for Matt Duchene's two-year, $7 million deal, but O'Reilly quickly dismissed their first offer for that short of a contract.
According to TFP Editor-in-Chief David Pagnotta, who spoke with O'Reilly's agent Mark Guy on Tuesday, there is nothing new to report at the moment in regards to both camps' negotiations.
In 81 games with the Avalanche last season, O'Reilly posted 18 goals and 37 assists for 55 points.
