O'Reilly, Avs continue to talk TheFourthPeriod.com
Contract negotiations between the Colorado Avalanche and the representatives for forward Ryan O'Reilly remain ongoing, the Denver Post reports.
Though talks do not appear to be moving in a direction where a new deal can be classified as "imminent," the two sides remain in communication.
"I can't comment on the negotiations, other than to say we are still working on it and will likely speak again next week," O'Reilly's agent, Mark Guy, told the Post.
With the possibility of a lockout, which could delay the start of the season, a new contract may not be overly pressing at the moment.
However, with several teams signing other players to long-term extensions, O'Reilly's situation could be one that can be considered difficult, in terms of negotiations.
O'Reilly, 21, registered 18 goals and 37 assists for 55 points in 81 games with the Avs this past season.
