Duchene injured in blowout victory TheFourthPeriod.com
Avalanche forward Matt Duchene was finally getting his game back together when another injury struck during Tuesday night's 7-1 blowout win over the Minnesota Wild, the Denver Post reports.
The 21-year-old, who had returned three weeks ago from a left knee injury, sustained a right ankle injury during the third period of the contest.
The young forward was helped off the ice after going down as he was tripped up by the stick of Wild winger Nick Palmieri. He was later seen being wheeled into the team's X-ray room on a cart.
Coach Joe Sacco told reporters that Duchene would be re-evaluated on Wednesday.
In 48 games with the Avs this season, Duchene has recorded 13 goals and 13 assists for 26 points.
