Colorado Avalanche forward Matt Duchene is likely to miss four weeks of action due to a left knee injury, according to the Denver Post.
The 20-year-old will need to undergo further tests once the swelling subsides in his knee, but for now the team remains hopeful that it won't be a long-term, season-ending injury.
The Avalanche will look to forward T.J. Galiardi to fill Duchene's left wing role on a line with center Paul Stastny, in hopes to increase the club's productivity and still make a feasible run at the playoffs.
Meanwhile, the Avs are not expected to call up any player from their affiliate club in Lake Erie in Duchene's absence, as winger David Jones was able to return to the lineup for Saturday's 4-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks.
