The Colorado Avalanche has re-signed restricted free-agent forward Peter Mueller to a two-year contract worth $4 million.

Mueller, who was acquired from the Phoenix Coyotes at the trade deadline on March 3, collected nine goals and 11 assists for 20 points in 15 games with the Avalanche last season. He will earn $1.5 million this season and $2.5 million in 2011-12.

"We are pleased to have reached an agreement with Peter," said Avalanche GM Greg Sherman. "We look forward to seeing him next week at training camp."

Selected by Phoenix in the first round (eighth overall) of the 2006 Entry Draft, Mueller has registered 48 goals and 79 assists for 127 points in 222 career games in the NHL.
