Forsberg still wants back in the NHL

Don't look now, but veteran star forward Peter Forsberg is attempting yet another NHL comeback, according to the Denver Post.

Forsberg, who turned 37 on July 20, scored a goal and picked up one assist in a charity game featuring NHL players Tuesday night in Sweden.

The native of Ornskoldsvik, Sweden has played in parts of 12 seasons in the NHL and has accumulated 249 goals and 636 assists for 885 points in 706 career regular-season games.

Forsberg deemed the game "one last test" to determine if he can still compete properly at the professional level.

The Post suggests a return to the Avalanche might be an option, but also indicates there may be a better chance of seeing him in New York, Washington or Philadelphia, if he returns to NHL action.
