Panarin, Blackhawks agree to extension

The Chicago Blackhawks have agreed to a contract extension with forward Artemi Panarin on a two-year, $12 million deal, TFP has confirmed.

Panarin was in the final year of his current deal and could have become a restricted free agent in July.

The news was first reported by Scott Powers of The Athletic, Chicago.

Panarin, 25, has registered 15 goals and 22 assists for 37 points in 37 games with the Blackhawks so far this season.

The native of Korkino, Russia, picked up 30 goals and 47 assists for 77 points in 80 games with the Blackhawks last season, his first in the NHL.
