Ladd won't return to Chicago
TheFourthPeriod.com

It seems as if the Chicago Blackhawks won't re-sign left wing Andrew Ladd this off-season, as the team simply doesn't have the salary cap space to make it work.

Ladd, 30, is set to become an unrestricted free agent July 1 and is expected to test the market.

In his latest "30 Thoughts" column on Sportsnet.ca, Elliotte Friedman reported that a deal with the Balckhawks is very unlikely.

"When we spoke after the season, they said it would be tough," Ladd told Friedman earlier this week. "The likelihood is they don't have the room to make it work.

"I honestly don't know what will happen."

Ladd will be one of the most coveted free agent forwards in the market next month, as several teams are expected to pursue him if he doesn't sign a deal with Chicago.
