Blackhawks eyeing Brodeur?

The Chicago Blackhawks could be on the lookout for a veteran goaltender to play behind starter Corey Crawford and appears to have interest superstar Martin Brodeur.

According to TVA Sports, Brodeur met with New Jersey Devils GM Lou Lamoriello on Thursday to discuss his future with the organization.

Brodeur, 41, has a no-trade clause, but has indicated that he would be willing to accept a trade if it helps the team.

Lamoriello, however, indicated recently that he does not want to trade Brodeur, but might have changed his mind after the two spoke this week.

TVA Sports claims the Blackhawks and Minnesota Wild are interested in Brodeur, who might prefer to go to a Stanley Cup contender like Chicago.

Teams can negotiate during the Olympic break, but cannot officially complete trades again until Feb. 24.

Brodeur has posted a 13-11-4 record with a 2.52 goals-against-average, a .899 save percentage and three shutouts in 28 games with the Devils this season.
