Hawks acquire Handzus from Sharks

The Chicago Blackhawks have acquired center Michal Handzus from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick.

Handzus, 36, registered one goal, one assists and 12 penalty minutes in 28 games with the Sharks this season.

The 14-year NHL veteran was originally drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the fourth-round (101st overall) of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft.

Over his career, Handzus has played with the Blues, Phoenix Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers, Blackhawks, Los Angeles Kings and Sharks.
