Last spring, Hossa sustained a season-ending concussion after an illegal hit from Phoenix Coyotes enforcer Raffi Torres during the first round of the playoffs.
This time, Hossa did not have to be taken off the ice on a stretcher as he eventually got up and Hansen made his way to the box to serve his 2-minute penalty for roughing. Hossa did not return to the game.
"I saw him after the game (and) he seems okay but we'll know more (Wednesday)," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville told the Chicago Tribune. "It's a major concern. Hopefully, he's okay."
Hansen is scheduled to have a hearing with the League on Wednesday afternoon.
In 16 games with the Blackhawks this season, Hossa has recorded eight goals and six assists for 14 points.
