The Chicago Blackhawks have signed unrestricted free agent defenseman Michal Rozsival to a one-year contract worth $2 million.
Rozsival, 34, recorded one goal and 12 assists for 13 points, with 34 penalty minutes and a +8 plus/minus rating, in 54 regular-season games with the Phoenix Coyotes last season.
The Vlasim, Czech Republic, native was originally selected in the fourth round (105th overall) of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Roszival has appeared in 756 career regular-season NHL games, tallying 64 goals and 196 assists for 260 points, a plus-58 rating and 589 penalty minutes across 12 seasons with the Penguins (1999-2003), New York Rangers (2005-2011) and Coyotes (2011-2012).
